You can consider various locations apart from studio such as your home, a park, close to the lake. Think creative and decide and you could also choose more than one location for the shoot, but keep your kids in mind.
Lighting: When you decide to take decide an inside or outside location, keep in mind the lighting of the ambience. Don’t take your family portraits in direct sunlight. And if you’re using studio lights, make sure the harsh shadows don’t fall on the face.
Positioning: Look at various family photos and thoroughly research the poses you want to see your family in. Take close up shots and shots from distance as well and don’t forget to capture the little smile, a yawn etc.
Keep the kids safe: Make sure the photographer is keeping in mid the safety of the kids while capturing them. Under no circumstances put the kids in any risky position for capture as nothing is more important than safety. Make sure the photographer and the place of shoot is hygienic and the photographer must wash his hands before touching the kids. Babies can get infections easily, so if your kidsare ill even with normal cold and you’ve made an appointment in advance, postpone it as nothing is more important than kid’s health.
